This must win game for a league winners spot proved a huge stumbling block for New Panteg as they fell to a narrow defeat to Crickhowell in dreadful conditions. As is becoming the norm the visitors arrived with higher league permit players to fortify their ranks and they demonstrated as a very difficult team to break down. Crickhowell scored two early tries to put pressure on Panteg who were finding the robust line speed and defence of their opponents testing in increasingly difficult conditions. Alex Gwatkin kept Panteg in with a fighting chance with 4 well struck penalties but despite constant late possession and territory, could not cross for a winning score.
